The Racines - Fall Mini Session

I love photographing this sweet family! Not only do I enjoy catching up with my friend Ashley, but I also love her boys' energy; they are just plain fun! I always have several poses and spots in mind when starting a session, but Nate frequently has plenty of his own ideas, and I love some of the images that result when I let him take the reigns for a bit. Seeing the delight in these boys' eyes as they tossed leaves in the air was such a great reminder that the posed, formal portraits are only a small part of photography, particularly when kids are involved. It's the candid moments that truly convey the joy and wonder of childhood and portray kids in their truest form, and I'm grateful for moments like these in a session that encourage me to let go of my plans and preconceived ideas and just enjoy God's beautiful creation with people I love.
