Ian - Newborn Session

Way back in March, I had the honor of photographing the Hillenbrand family's pregnancy announcement (you can see those photos here), so I have been anticipating the arrival of this little man for quite some time! I was so touched by his family's excitement over him months ago, and it was so sweet to see them all even more overjoyed in their interactions with him now that he has arrived.

Boy, did he make me work for these images, though. I have no doubt he is going to be one smart cookie because this kid does not miss a beat; he is so alert and tracks people like no newborn I've ever seen. I was pulling out all the stops to get him to sleep, and he was not having it. Haha! Thankfully, I was able to catch a few drowsy, slow blinks while he was relaxed, so we still got a few shots with that snoozing newborn look we were after. But if I'm honest, his awake shots are my favorites from this session. They just show so much personality and expression, and I LOVED, LOVED, LOVED seeing him connecting with his lovely parents and siblings.

Hillenbrand fam, thanks for allowing me to capture these images of all of you as sweet Ian joins your amazing crew! I hope these images serve as happy memories of the bond each of you has with him from the start!
