The Racines - Family Session

This was probably the most laid-back session I've ever done, and I loved it! My friend and fellow resident-wife Ashley asked me if I would stop by her house to get some fall pictures of her and her kids; I'm always happy to try new locations; it can certainly be fun and inspiring to walk in blind and think on my feet, but there is a small part of me that gets nervous when I take pictures in a place I've never been before. I wonder what direction the best lighting will come from, and what the background will be facing that direction, and how much space there will be, and so on. However, when I stepped into their gorgeous backyard with a beautiful wood fence, sun streaming through the leaves, and a GIANT leaf pile Ashley's husband had raked for the kids to play in, I knew all was well! The boys had a great time jumping and hiding in the leaves, showing me their huge pine cone collection, introducing me to their dog, and even playing a little golf ;) And while the boys ran off their energy in between shots, I got to catch up with Ashley, which was so nice--a perfect mix of play date and photo session. Thanks, Racine Fam, for inviting me to your home and allowing me to capture these fun images of you!

^This one needs to be recreated on one of their wedding days as they're straightening each other's bow ties. So sweet!
